Oshea Herbals UVSHIELD Sunblock Gel - Review

Last month I reviewed a Sunscreen 'Cream' where I mentioned that Sunscreen products come in different forms. There is the lotion, the gel, the cream, the oil, the sprays, and many  many more. In today's post, I will be reviewing a Sunblock Gel.

Now, the difference between a Sunscreen and a Sunblock is that there are two types of protective lotions – chemical and physical. Sunblock, the physical kind, contains both organic and non-organic ingredients that sit on top of the skin acting as a barrier between your skin and damaging UV rays by reflecting or scattering UVB light. On the other hand, Sunscreen, the chemical kind, penetrates the skin and absorbs the UVA rays before they are able to reach and damage your dermal layer.

I will do a more detailed post on the different types of sun-protective products sometime later. For now, having said that, let's move on to the review.

By now you would have heard and read about Oshea Herbals Brand. I have previously done reviews of Oshea Product too. Oshea Herbals has come up with Oshea Herbals UVSHIELD Sunblock Gel with SPF-20. Today's post is a review of this product.

What Oshea Herbals UVSHIELD Sunblock Gel with SPF-20 Offers

Blocks the harmful appearance of UVA & UVB sun rays. The gel formula prevents skin from sun burn, tanning, hyper pigmentation, premature aging and lightens the skin tone by regulating skin darkening pigments.

Direction to Use:

Apply gently on all exposed areas of the skin at least 15 minutes before stepping out in the sun.

Rs.195/- for 120 g.

My Experience with the Product:

I have been using the Oshea Herbals UVSHIELD Sunblock Gel for over a month now. This product is absolutely light weight and non greasy for all skin types. Aloe Vera Gel as an active ingredient works on reducing sunburns and skin tan and helps drop down the aging of the skin. The gel has healing properties instead of protection properties. This is an oil free sun screen prepared for normal to oily skin with quick penetration properties. The texture of this sunblock is gel like and blends perfectly to the skin in just no time. It is orange in colour and smells amazing. The only downside of this product is that the tube has a flip top cap that is not very tight and hence is less travel friendly, which means that the packaging is not done as per expectations. You need to carry it around really carefully.

The concept of Sunblock Gel is quite different from Sunscreen Creams or Lotions. Since this sunblock gel has healing properties, I prefer using it as an 'after exposure to the sun' treatment. While out in the sun, you definitely need a sunscreen cream but once you are home and have cleaned up your face, you should apply this sunblock gel to allow the aloe vera and other active ingredients like the Vitiver, Carrot, Cucumber and Chamomile nourish your skin and repair any damages that may have been caused by the sun. It removes sunburn and skin tan significantly and provides you with a brighter skin complexion. Also, since this is a herbal product, it is extremely skin friendly, and is suitable for all skin types. It moisturizes and hydrates your skin as well making it feel more radiant, supple and soft.
This product is available on all major departmental stores as well as online portals across the country. For more details, visit on  www.osheaherbals.com
Rating: I would rate this product 4.5 out of 5 because it is an excellent product and keeps my skin cool. This product keeps its promises and claims. Also, what I love about Oshea products is that it is not tested on animals, is enriched with herbal extracts and is environment friendly.

Note: Oshea Herbals was kind enough to send me 2 free tubes of the Oshea Herbals UVSHIELD Sunblock Gel with SPF-20. However, I review a product only after using it and all my reviews are 100% genuine and based on my experience using them.
