Singapore Diaries- 2: Sentosa Islands and Universal Studios.

Hey Everyone,

Sentosa Islands in Singapore is one place which has 3 beaches and you can find all the world's tranquility just there. There are two parts to the it. The Universal Studios where you'd get to experience the craziest rides ever and the Beach side Sentosa Islands where though there are a very few rides, but is still a very peaceful and serene place. The rides at both these places are very very expensive (anywhere between SG$25-85) but well, they are one heck of an experience. At the Universal Studios, you pay around SG$74 at the time of entrance and get to be on every ride you wish to take. On the other hand, at the Islands, you pay as you take the rides. You do not want to take a ride, you do not have to pay.

The attractions like the Underwater World, Dolphin Lagoon and Skydiving, Luge and Air Suspension are simply the awesome(st) stuff I've ever seen. The best part of the entire trip was the Singapore Cable Car ride that takes you so high you can see almost the whole of Singapore with it's rich ports and bays and huge cruise ships. Irrespective of the fact that I'm normally afraid of heights, and it makes me go dizzy for the initial few minutes, I totally enjoyed the pretty fantastic view from the top. And going to heights on many occasions like to the Marina Bay Sands and The Singapore Flyer and then this Cable Car ride finally left me feeling like I've conquered the world (*giggle*)

Oh, yes, Singapore is very close to the Equator. So basically, it's hot (very hot instead) almost throughout the year. Going to the beach without slapping on your favorite Sunscreen is just out of question. I actually got so badly tanned (inspite of the sunscreen) that my skin is still of two shades even after 3 weeks since I came back from there. They do not have winters, sadly.

Sentosa will definitely leave you needing a nap, but nevertheless, it is a must visit for everyone who goes to Singapore. And now the pictures. :)

The huge Merlion at the back. When the clouds are moving, it seems as if the merlion is moving to and fro.

Bought this hat for SG $5. Wide brimmed and made of straw. Absolutely loved it.
